What CPD covers on the Nepal PG paper
MEC includes a mandatory professional-topics block so graduates are tested on more than specialty facts. The usual list is medical ethics, rational use of drugs, infection prevention and control, BLS/ACLS, and communication skills.
These items are often recall-plus-application: consent, confidentiality, first-line resuscitation steps, isolation, and why a drug is irrational in a given patient.
- Ethics: consent, confidentiality, end-of-life decisions, professional conduct.
- Rational drugs: avoid polypharmacy, know high-risk combinations, match the guideline.
- Infection control: hand hygiene, PPE, isolation, sharps, outbreak basics.
- BLS/ACLS: CAB sequence, shockable vs non-shockable rhythms, adrenaline timing.
- Communication: breaking bad news, handover, informed refusal.
How to practice
Start a CEE PG mock so CPD items appear in the same mix as the real paper. After scoring, filter your PDF review for ethics and resuscitation misses. Do not treat generated ACLS steps as a substitute for an AHA/NRC course — confirm algorithms against current guidelines.
